Hey, y'all, welcome to my first blog post! What's a better first blog post than one about your own baby shower? I planned this nautical themed baby shower around my love of the water and all things nautical. I grew up "down the shore" in Jersey and have scrambled to get back to the beach every chance I get. My husband and I got engaged at the beach and later wed in the same spot. Needless to say it was a no-brainer when we started planning the shower that our love of the water would be passed down to our son. We knew there was a fine line between "Yacht Club" and "Margaritaville" and that it would be all too easy to cross that line so we paid close attention to every detail and choice we made. Held at Country Club of the South, this event overflowed with nautical details. Along with floral arrangements, small ships served as centerpieces on tables bedecked in yellow, blue and white. Colorful flags and netting hung from the walls. And one of my favorite details? The beautiful wooden rowboat used to store gifts!
