Elopements, Micro Weddings & Pop-Up Weddings, oh my! But what’s the difference?
You’re probably hearing these terms all over the place lately, but it can be a little confusing to figure out what makes them different and see if any of those might be the right fit for you and your fiance. No worries, I’m gonna help break it all down!
People choose to elope or downsize their weddings for lots of reasons, but most couples opt to go tiny because it’s intimate, more affordable, stress-free and utterly romantic. It’s also a unique alternative to typical wedding styles, ensuring your big day is all about the two of you and your love story.
Every Groom is accompanied on their big day by those who have made their journey with their significant other possible.
This is the time to show those who have sacrificed much to be there for you that you truly care about them. Some gifts are definitely better than others at saying "Thanks for Being There" and this is the guide to help you pick out the gifts that will make the manliest bro blush.
Think you've got the perfect gift for your Groomsmen? Think again.
Below are some of the most typical, but useless, gifts that are given to groomsmen for being such a large part of your special day. There isn't a doubt that this day is about you or your spouse but spend your money wisely on gifts that will reflect on powerful friendships, not materialistic fads.
It's all about the details. Wedding details, that is! We're talking about all those pretty little accessories and special flourishes that you've likely spent weeks, if not months, selecting. So of course you want to make sure those get documented!
The morning of the wedding is usually pretty bananas and the last thing on a bride's mind is gathering all the pretty little details for the photographer to shoot as she's getting ready. That's why we suggest gathering all of those details in one spot a few days before the wedding and either giving them right to your planner/mom/maid of honor or stashing everything in the hotel safe (if that's where you're getting ready). No matter the case, gather everything BEFORE the morning of the wedding.
We have planned some amazing weddings over the past ten years, and when our couples trust us to do our jobs as experts, it makes EVERYTHING so much smoother. We're not out to run your pockets or push you around. Our only goal is to give you a stress-free, fun wedding day! So when we recommend a fellow wedding professional or back up weather plans for the back up plans, we always have the best interests of our couples in mind.
However...occasionally there are couples that think they know better than we do. Read on for our Top Ten Cautionary Tales.
This gorgeous wedding inspiration was richly warm, luxuriously rustic and an inviting celebration incorporating the colors, materials and textures found in a mountain lodge. Plush furs, traditional tartans, rich leather, antlers and hardwoods complemented this simple color palette perfectly to round out this masculine wintry wedding at the gorgeous Coleman Hall & Chapel in Charleston, SC.
i love her, and that's the beginning and the end of everything. - f. scott fitzgerald
We had an absolute blast working with Shaun and Will. It's no secret that we love our clients, but every now and then we hit the jackpot with hilarious, champagne guzzling, trusting, laid-back couples. And that's exactly what happened with Shaun & Will! From laughing hysterically on our planning calls, to boozing about the city before their wedding together, laughing so hard champagne was shooting out of our noses, the hilarity was nonstop with these two!
The Parsonage in Charleston was the perfect venue for Brent & Lisa's intimate, family only elopement.
"Who should we feed?"
We answer this question a lot and more often than not, couples just aren't sure who to include in their headcount. Short answer: any vendor who is on site for the duration of the wedding should be fed a hot meal. That means you feed:
- the wedding planner and their team,
- the photographer and their assistants,
- the DJ or the band,
- the videographer,
- the people working the photo booth,
- is hair/makeup staying to keep you looking fresh? is there live entertainment like dancers or cigar rollers? a fabulous henna artist painting hands and feet all night? anyone staying for the duration of your wedding should be on the list for meals.

What could be more lovely than a wedding with real ballerinas at Magnolia Plantation in spring?
We combined soft blush pink with mercury glass and gold, with lush floral designs, rustic farm tables, stunning industrial chandeliers, and refurbished church pews to create this lovely Southern wedding inspiration. We adore the nontraditional elements mixed with the traditional used to create this crisp, clean, elegant affair. We hope you love it as much as we did!
