Should we Elope or throw a Pop-Up Wedding? What's the difference?
Once you've decided to skip the big wedding, its time to choose whether to Elope or throw a Pop-Up Wedding!
But what's the difference between an Elopement and a Pop-Up Wedding? Well, not a whole heckuva lot to be honest. Both are (usually) less expensive than a "normal" wedding. Both require a lot less time and energy planning. And they're both about as low-stress as possible when it comes to planning everything. The biggest thing an Elopement and a Pop-Up Wedding have in common is a couple's desire for simplicity. Simplicity in planning, in guest list (if there is one), in timeline, in just about everything!
An Elopement is about two humans, madly in love, deciding to spend the rest of their lives together, usually without telling anyone about their plans to get hitched! Typically, couples elope during the week (Monday-Friday) and consist of just the two people saying I Do, their officiant, witnesses and (usually) a photographer. Elopements are very simple events and almost always take place at a destination location (hence the reason why its sometimes called Running Off!); elopement locations are only limited by your imagination! They (usually) don't require any special permits or carry massive venue rental fees and can be planned from afar with ease!
Pop-Up Weddings are legit, complete weddings, but on an intimate, tiny scale! Typically they're the perfect choice for the couple that is craving all the beauty and details that go into the wedding day but want to skip the large guest list, months spent planning and the large price tag. Pop-Up Weddings can take place pretty much anywhere, from the couple's home town, or a gorgeous destination far, far away.
With a Pop-Up Wedding there's a beautifully styled venue, an itty-bitty guest list (usually between 4-20 of your nearest & dearest), with gorgeous flowers, delicious food, photography and tons of special details that help complete the dream wedding day. Just on a much smaller scale! They often take place during the week (Monday-Friday) or on a weekend during off-peak seasons. Occasionally these weddings are kept a complete surprise from everyone attending until the very last second! And, don't even get us started on how much we LOVE a Surprise Wedding!
